April 2025 Recap

April 2025 Recap

by | May 6, 2025 | 0 comments

Happy May, beautiful people! Welcome to a new month. It finally feels like spring in New York which is amazing because the warmer, longer days are closer than we can imagine. April was a packed month but it was an amazing month nonetheless. Curious to see what I was up to last month? Keep reading.

A Busy Full Month

Last month was very very full. Between working my corporate job, creating content, and travels, there wasn’t really time to just waste! However, despite the business of it all I am grateful. April was a big reminder of how much I love my life and all that I get to do in it. That’s why I’ve stopped saying that my life is busy and I say that my life is full. That shift in perspective has helped me to appreciate the beauty of having so many different facets to my life and the opportunity to pursue multiple passions simultaneously while also making time for the people that I love.

Some highlights for April were traveling to the Bahamas and Baltimore to celebrate friends’ birthdays, traveling to Mexico to go to a wedding, seeing my parents on the way back from Mexico, and completing my LinkedIn Learning course! I also tried out a new hair style and managed to find some time during the weekend to just do nothing! I’ve been working on improving my work-life balance by setting better boundaries and being more intentional with my time. This has allowed me to enjoy my travels and social activities without feeling overwhelmed or guilty about taking time off. I’m learning that it’s not just about managing time, but about managing energy and making sure I’m showing up as my best self in all areas of my life.

Holding Myself Accountable

Last month was the first month that I really set specific and measurable goals for myself. While that might seem shocking to some, I found for a while that I didn’t need to in order to still manage to get myself done. However, I am in a season where I truly need to be intentional in order to really build the momentum that I want to build. While I didn’t get every single goal that I wanted complete, I got pretty close to the ones that I didn’t complete and that makes me really proud. I’m learning that its not about achieving perfection; it’s about being resilient and pushing forward even if its a little despite what obstacles may be in your way.

The two things that I am really proud of myself for doing are getting the title for my car and trying a new hair style! Both of those things are things that I have been meaning to do for awhile and have always found reasons to procrastinate or not get them done. Doing both of these things taught me the importance of doing the things that you say you’re going to do instead of just talking about doing them. Having this new found perspective and realization is what I believe is going to help me achieve the goals that I have for myself in May.

Business Update: Content Creation + LinkedIn Learning

Part of what made life so was finishing up my LinkedIn Learning course. The LinkedIn Learning course that I finished is one of the more challenging courses that I worked on and I had a very specific deadline in order to get it done. Because the course was so challenging, I could not afford to procrastinate any part of creating the course which required some time to just lock myself in at home to get what I need to get done. I am so pleased to say that I did get it done and have wrapped up my eighth course! As I’ve said before, I love working with the team at LinkedIn so I’m excited to continue working with them on more courses this year. I do think that I am getting the hang of balancing course writing with everything else going on in my life so this next course that will be coming up again will be a true test.

Content creation was in full swing last month as well! While I didn’t reach every goal that I had surrounding my content last month, I came pretty close. And considering how much I had to do/get done last month, I will take that no problem. This month is going to be all about figuring out my schedule to see how I can better schedule everything and still leave room for myself every day. It’s not going to be easy, but it is going to require me to be more disciplined in order to reach the bigger overarching goals that I have. This will help me maintain consistency while still having time for other aspects of my life.

Continuing to Grow

As I look towards May, I see it as Phase 2 of this growth state that I am in. I’ve seen what I am capable of doing with a certain level of intentionality and I can see what is possible when I add more intentionality to what I am doing. My focus for May is to find the optimal schedule that gives me great work life balance and also allows me to operate at my most optimal state. May is going to be a month of growth and I am welcoming what comes my way.

Closing

Looking back at April, I’m reminded that fullness doesn’t mean exhaustion – it means living life to its fullest potential while maintaining balance and joy in everything I do. As I continue to grow both personally and professionally, I’m excited to see how this mindset shift continues to positively impact my life. and what that looks like for the month of May.
