Happy February, beautiful people! I don’t know about you, but January felt like the longest month of my life. Maybe it’s because of everything that has been going on in the United States. However, I also feel like so much of life has been packed into the last month that I truly just couldn’t keep up. Curious to see what I’ve been up to the last month? Keep reading and find out.
Word of 2025: Momentum
In case you missed my annual review last month, I shared that my word for 2025 is momentum. One of the ways I plan on building that momentum is to remain consistent, measure my progress and continue to build and grow. I started the beginning of 2025 feeling very sure of what I needed to do and how exactly what I needed to do in order to get it done. I started off the beginning of the month really strong in working towards my goals and I was feeling really good about it.
However, I realized that I was also starting to push my limits because of other things that I had going on in my life. While quantity and repetitions are important, so is quality as well. Because of the other things I had going on, I could feel myself on the edge of burn-out which I knew I wanted to avoid. This caused me to take a little bit of a break but I don’t see it as setback. I see it as an opportunity to conserve my energy so that when I hit the gas again, I can move forward just as I intended.
Personal Life: Traveling to East Africa

The biggest thing that happened this past month was my trip to Kenya and Zanzibar. Last month was my mom’s 60th birthday and I was in charge of planning a week’s worth of activities for her and her family and friends which was such a HUGE undertaking. This trip had been months in the making and there was so many moving parts which was also very stressful. That being said, the trip was a success, my mom had an amazing time, and I guess I can say that the stress of it all was worth it. I don’t foresee myself planning a big trip like this anytime soon, but the lessons I learned in organizing the whole trip are some that I will take with me for a very long time.

To celebrate the completion of this trip, I booked a trip for myself to Zanzibar! This is my second time going to Zanzibar and I have to say that I don’t think it will be the last time I go either! I had the most amazing time and I truly feel restored and ready to take on whatever this year has in store. As somewhat of a frequent traveler, I have to say that sometimes you need a trip to just do nothing. Sure there’s tons you can see and so much you can pack in, but giving yourself the space to relax and recharge outside of your own home can make the world of a difference. I’m definitely going to be looking into finding more ways and opportunities to recharge and relax throughout the business that I am sure life will bring.
Business Update: LinkedIn Courses + New Instagram
At the end of January, my new LinkedIn Learning course was released! This course is all about the Go Standard Library. I’m also working on another course that is scheduled to be released sometime in the spring! One of my big goals with working on these LinkedIn Learning courses is to develop a better schedule as I continue to work on them. At this point, being a LinkedIn Learning instructor is something that I DO so developing a better process for working on them is going to be so key when it comes to making them happen. I can’t wait to see what else is in store for me and LinkedIn Learning this year.
Another thing I launched last month is a Bookstagram! I’ve been sharing a lot of book content on my TikTok and I’m excited to bring that over to Instagram as well. One thing I’m really trying to do this year is not hold back when it comes to content creation. I know adding a bunch of different platforms is going to be a lot, however, I’m not worried. I know that by taking the small steps and being consistent is going to be what will carry me. Rather than looking at how daunting it could be, I’m choosing to focus on how exciting the journey could be.
Closing
If you’re reading this on the day that this post is being published, then it will be one day before it’s my birthday! My birthday always has a whirl-wind of emotions but one thing I am is truly grateful. Grateful for another year of life to keep evolving and growing into the woman I am destined into be. I’m excited to see what this next year will bring. If you’d like to send me some birthday wishes, don’t hesitate to DM me on Instagram! It’ll be so appreciated.
