March 2025 Recap

by | Apr 4, 2025 | 0 comments

Happy April, beautiful people! Spring has finally arrived. Well, in New York, it doesn’t quite feel like that yet. However, summer is soon upon us which I am highly anticipating. March was such a good month. I felt like I was finally back into my groove and really building on my routines and schedules. Curious to see what I have been up to? Keep reading.

Finding My Creative Spark

Despite the weather still being cold, I still had tons of fun in New York in March! I saw a lot of broadway shows and plays, went to a concert, went to a book reading, played a lot of tennis, and read a bunch of books. I felt like I was able to do all of the things that made me happy. I am willing to accept the fact that I am someone who really loves routine. Having routines allow me to feel secure and grounded which helps me thrive and find more opportunities to be creative.

At the end of February, I saw this reel that talks about how life is never going to suddenly slow down or get easier you just have to do a little bit each day to work towards your goals. I really took that to heart heading into March. I finally emptied out the video ideas that I had saved up on my phone and started to feel like I can really start to hit my groove and do more. Despite everything going on within the world, I still have hope that 2025 is going to be a good year.

Getting Down to Business

One of the things I’ve been really proud of myself for doing is being consistent with blogging. I wrote all of the blog posts that I said I wanted to write in the month of March! While not all of the posts were written exactly when I said that I wanted to write them (including this one, lol!), I feel good about achieving that and getting it done. I really do enjoy writing so being able to pour back into that love through my blog felt good.

On the social media front, I finally took the time to review my analytics from the last quarter and see what actually got done. While I have a bit of a gap from what I want to be doing (posting five times a week) to where I’m at now (posting 1-2x a week, 3 on a good week), I recognize that I need to start somewhere. My goal for the month of April is to post 3x a week on social media. I created a content calendar on Notion for the month of April (for the first time in forever) and I’m so excited! I’m ready to get back to creating content that allows me to build community and just inspire other people. I’m not too sure what this month will bring but I’m allowing myself to be open to the opportunities and I’m excited for what’s to come.

In April, I’ll also be recording another LinkedIn Learning course. This course is more of an advanced course and as a result, it’s a lot longer and the chapters take a long time to write. It’s definitely challenging me in the best of ways, but one thing it’s really making me not do is procrastinate. I’ve scripted about half of it now and I’m giving myself a very specific deadline to get it done. Having this deadline will force me to hold myself accountable which is what I will need for this next season in my life.

Outside of these different streams of work, I’m definitely going to be adding some other creative avenues. I plan on creating a Susbtack and also getting back into YouTube. One thing I’m doing to add these things in is being aware of my capacity. I recognize that I can’t do everything so I’m going to be delegating and scaling back until I can get things to where I need them to be. It’s going to be interesting for sure, but I want to see where this content creation goes and I want to be intentional about it.

Trusting my own Happiness

A software engineering win for me last month is that I got a very positive performance review. While this isn’t my first performance review at the company, it is the first one after working a full calendar year. I’ve been learning so much at work and have been challenged in so many different ways through all of these different learnings. It feels so validating to know that not only is the hard work paying off, it’s also being recognized.

My career as a software engineer has been somewhat of a love-hate relationship that I’m finally start to be comfortable with loving again. However, this time it’s way different. I feel that I have a much healthier relationship with my work this time around which has given me the freedom and joy to pursue other avenues and ventures that I want. Having this positive performance review gave me the final piece I needed to feel like I can trust my own happiness.

I can trust that I’m not going to work myself at the expense of my well-being. I can trust that I’ll know when it’s time to rest and when it’s time to get to work. I can trust that I can allocate my time well that can allocate for all of the things that I want to do in my life. I’m starting to see that I am building momentum and I will reach my goals as long as I keep pushing forward and maintain efficient time management. I can truly build the life that I want.

Closing

I’m excited for April. I truly think it’s going to be a good month. I can’t wait to look back on this post and see what I was able to accomplish and what new learnings are in store. What was a highlight for you in March? Let me know!
