Hello, Beautiful People! Happy June! Wow I can’t believe half the year is already over! I hope that this year is still going well for you and you’re getting everything that you wanted and more. May was a busy busy month. As I’m writing this I’m trying to put it into a couple of words but it truly deserves this entire blog post to really put it all together. Curious as to what I’ve been up to? Keep Reading.
Taking my Productivity Out of State
After being in New York City both in March and April, May was back to having a packed social calendar. I had a wedding, a baby shower, a graduation, and a birthday party to go to all out of town! While it was really busy, I had an amazing time being able to celebrate friends milestones and special moments. It’s so crazy to be at an age where all of these things are all happening at the same time but I’m so grateful for the community that I have and being able to show up for friend’s and family.

One thing that I was surprised to have held up despite all of the travel are my routines, systems, and habits. I was still doing my evening and morning routines, sticking to my content schedule, and still getting my workouts in where I can. My routines and habits are non-negotiables for my week. To me, this shows that I can get the things that I need to get done regardless of whether or not my schedule is predictable or not. And honestly, that’s the whole point. Building systems and habits that are flexible enough to travel with you, not ones that fall apart the moment life gets full.

Onboarding as a Studio Yoga Instructor
This month I have onboarded as a Yoga Instructor at Y7! I mentioned this in my April that I got news that I was offered the position and this month I went through their onboarding and I am officially ready to be on the schedule! I am so excited to officially be teaching in June. I started my obsession with hot yoga at Y7 and so to now be teacher there feels like a true full-circle moment. Balancing a Yoga teaching schedule in addition to a 9-5 job is going to be a bit of a challenge, but I am sure I can rise to the occasion.
In becoming an instructor at this studio I’ve also been hired to teach their heated sculpt classes as well! When it was first presented as an opportunity, I was very hesitant. It felt so out of my comfort zone and out of my depth. However, I pushed through anyway and it ended up not being that bad at all! I’ve learned that the journey of being a yoga teacher doesn’t just end. You continue to grow and evolve just as your practice grows and evolves as well. I’m excited to build community and connection through Yoga. Hopefully I’ll see some of you guys in my class!
Being an Advocate for Myself
Work in May was filled with uncertainty surrounding what our roadmap is going to look like work-wise. As someone who is highly ambitious and career-driven I can’t help but feel that this is going to impact my long-term career goals. Old me would have taken this as a sign to look for new opportunities, but new me knows that I actually don’t want to and I actually want to try and make it work here. I’ve been fortunate to have a manager who has seemingly advocated for me, however, he’s currently on leave which is requiring me to advocate for myself. I can’t lie, I don’t love it. But I have the encouragement of friends and even some of my coworkers to still push through anyway. I’m not sure what the outcome will be (hopefully I have a clearer picture of that by the end of June), but at the end of the day I want to say that I tried. And sometimes, that’s enough.
Establishing a Base for Creative Income
This quarter is about scaling my creative efforts and so far I am doing just that. However, I haven’t hit the revenue generating goals that I am looking for. While I have faith that I will hit that by the end of the year, I realized at the end of May there are certain things that I can establish for myself like adding ads, creating a ShopMy, or an Amazon Storefront. By the end of June I want to have at least two of these things in place so that I can start to generate passive income as I continue to grow as a creator. The goal isn’t to overhaul everything overnight. It’s to put the infrastructure in place so that my content starts working for me even when I’m not actively pushing it. Small, consistent monetization levers add up, and I’d rather start now than wait until I feel “ready.”
Closing
Looking back on May, I can say that the biggest challenge wasn’t falling apart; it was never having the space to truly breathe. As I head into June, I want to be more intentional about carving that time. I want to feel anchored into more habits, well-rested, and also executing on everything to the fullest. Heading into June I feel focused, excited, and ready to end the first half of the year with a bang.
